Formulation and Dosage
FORMULATION:
Each sachet contains:
Acetylcysteine …………………………………………… 600 mg
DOSAGE:
Adult dose: Once daily or as prescribed by a physician.
Dissolve 1 sachet of acetylcysteine 600 mg powder in a half (100 ml) glass of water. This produces a solution that should be consumed immediately.
The safety and efficacy are not established in children aged 2 years and older and adolescents. Other forms and Strengths of acetylcysteine are more suitable for children > 2 and adolescents.
For patients with reduced cough reflex (elderly and weakened patients) are advised to take acetylcysteine 600 mg in the morning.
Duration of Treatment
Acute Disorders: 5 to 10 days
Chronic Disorders: It may be continued in the chronic state of several month according to the advice of the physician.
Indication
Treatment of respiratory affections characterized by thick and viscous hypersecretions due to acute bronchitis, chronic bronchitis and its exacerbation, pulmonary emphysema, mucoviscidosis and bronchiectasis.
