FORMULATION:
Each ml contains:
Epinephrine USP……………………………………………….1 mg
Sodium Metabisulfite (Antioxidant)
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
IV Adult Severe anaphylactic shock 0.5ml of 1:1000 solution in 10ml saline.
SC bronchial asthma & bronchospasm 0.3-0.5 ml of 1:1000 dilution
Children 10mcg /kg body wt or 300mcg/m2 body surface up to 500mcg/dose, repeated as necessary up to 6 times a day.
Indication
Epinephrine is used in anaphylaxis/anaphylactoid reactions; cardiac arrest; and asthma as complication or manifestation of anaphylaxis.
